Drop by the Nelson Public Library Thursday mornings at 10:30 come to sing your favourite songs and hear some great stories!

All ages welcome.

The days are shorter but the Nelson Museum is open longer! Thursdays from 4-8pm is FREE admission to the galleries, museum and Shop, where you can explore the newest exhibitions, learn about local history, and shop over 100 local artists!

Learn to make ravioli from scratch with Chef Rahul Joshi! Master the basics of fresh pasta dough and stuffing techniques, with meat and vegetarian filling options available.

Jan 23rd (7-10pm): Suds & Duds: A paint night led by local artist Julia Campbell. Bring a piece of clothing- an old jacket, shirt or jeans- and create your own wearable art with Julia’s step-by-step guidance. For just $40, you’ll get a beverage, paint, brushes and stencils to create a custom design. All you need to bring is your clothing item and a good attitude!

There is so much amazing local talent in the Kootenays we need two nights a week to show it all off. All musicians and performers welcome.

Come down and show us what you’ve got or sit back and watch the amazing talents of others!

Every Friday afternoon, the Nelson Royal Canadian Legion (402 Victoria Street – Stanley Street Entrance) holds meat & prize draws from 3 to 5 pm.  There is also often a 50/50 draw.  All proceeds to local charities.  Please come out and join us in a great community cause.

During the height of the Cold War, in the 1950s and 1960s, nearly 50 bunkers were constructed across Canada. In 2017, the Nelson Museum began work on restoring the space and opening it to the public. You can join a tour of one of the Museumʼs best-loved spaces!

Come and enjoy a fabulous gourmet Nelson Nordic Ski Club skiing experience. Tour 3 of our warming cabins and sample a delicious cup of soup at each!

This event is by donation with proceeds going to Kidsport and our Ski Team and Youth Programs. Remember to bring your own cup.

Writing diverse characters can be a struggle. So often a writer can be paralyzed by fear of getting it wrong or of being too didactic. For those who want some insight in how to write LGBTQ+ characters with thoughtfulness, the Nelson Library will be offering a free workshop.
