The ferries in our region are free, including the tourist attraction, the Kootenay Lake Ferry, which is the longest free ferry in the world. It's a 35-minute journey covering 8km, and operates year round.

Note: The summer service with M.V. Balfour operates from late June through Labour Day weekend. M.V. Balfour also replaces Osprey 2000 during maintenance. Food services are available on Osprey 2000 only. Check DriveBC for current conditions and event

Public Washrooms
Due to Covid-19, washrooms on the ferry are currently closed. Public washrooms at both the Balfour and Kootenay Bay Terminals are Open.
